Blues Hoodoo

May 20,2023

Blues Hoodoo are described as a High Powered, Instrumental Funk Fusion/Blues Quintet with a balanced serving of Jazz reflections throughout their performances. From the first composition to the last, their high energy sets have wowed audiences wherever they are playing at.
Performing a selection of covers from such artist greats as Jaco Pastorius, Miles Davis, Chick Corea and Michael Brecker to name a few, Blues Hoodoo are proving to be festival and club favorites, continuing to instantly captivate audiences with their infectious and multi-dimensional grooves. Supplemented by the band’s original material in these same genres, songs will often take on new directions during every performance. The level of trust among band members enables them to take risks, creating a tapestry of sound that takes off into adventurous harmonic territory over syncopated infectious grooves.

Here are a few testimonials from club owners and stage events over the past couple of years:

“I’ve had the great pleasure of presenting Blues Hoodoo at Frankie’s Jazz Club several times. The show is always fantastic, and the crowd always has a spectacular time. It’s one of the few bands that I present that the staff immediately asks, “when are they coming back?”

“Bez Arts Hub has presented Blues Hoodoo the last couple of years and consistently from the first downbeat the audience is sparked. The whole outfit just oozes passion, tastefully mastering cover tunes from icons like Chick Corea, Jeff Beck, Jaco Pastorius and Herbie Hancock. The band’s original material deftly showcases the band’s musical expressiveness, tight arrangements, taking their listeners on a harmonic adventure. We highly recommend Blues Hoodoo for a great performance. We are looking forward to the next show of Blues Hoodoo at the Bez.”
