Laila Biali Quartet

March 14, 2026

The Vernon Jazz Club is over the moon to once again present the multi award-winning and extraordinary vocalist Laila Biali. Laila’s musical world is one where jazz intertwines effortlessly with other influences, piano mastery is matched by vocal brilliance, and every song becomes a personal statement. Dubbed by the Washington Post as an artist who “masterfully mixes jazz and pop, bringing virtuosity and unpredictability to songs that are concise and catchy,” she stands out among Canadian jazz vocalists for her fearless creativity and deep emotional range. Laila’s critically acclaimed albums—such as the JUNO‑nominated Your Requests and the genre‑defying Out of Dust—offer inventive arrangements of beloved classics and heartfelt originals. Biali’s current project is exploring the music of such Canadian musical icons as k.d. Lang, Bruce Cockburn, and Joni Mitchell, reimagining their works with her trademark warmth and sophistication. For this performance, our Canadian treasure Laila Biali will be joined onstage by Ben Wittman on drums, Mike Rud on guitar and Rob Fahie on bass.
