More About the Vernon Jazz Club

The Vernon Jazz Club is operated by the Vernon Jazz Society, which is a completely volunteer-run, non-profit society.

We host around 20 live music events each year, usually occurring every other Saturday from September through to June.

We have a superb venue, located on the second floor of a wonderful heritage building in Downtown Vernon at 3000 – 31st Street (above Nolan’s Pharmasave).

We easily seat 150 patrons cabaret-style, and each table has good sight lines.

We serve wine, beer, coolers, high-balls, coffee/tea, pop, and water at our bar with a bowl of snacks provided free on each table.

Please note:

On-premise purchases of tickets or beverages can only be made using cash.

Online purchases of tickets and table reservations can only be made using MasterCard or Visa.

Mike Allen

Spare, elegant, melodic, soaring, fierce – Vancouver’s Mike Allen has arrived as the country’s top jazz saxophonist.  Echoes of John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman and Joe Lovano resonate through Allen’s work, but the Vancouver-based saxman has channeled them into a voice of his own, by turns soulful, intense, lush and dynamic.

Cory Weeds

It’s easy to remember Cory Weeds. He’s Vancouver’s superstar saxophonist, who blows everyone away with his stellar performances, which often include legendary guest performers.

Stephanie Pedraza

Get ready Vernon… Stephanie Pedraza Quartet is back this Spring at the Vernon Jazz Club by popular demand. This will be a night filled with Latin grooves and lots of fun and dancing.

Poppa Dawg

Hailing from the ‘Left Coast’ of Canada, Rick “Poppa Dawg” Halisheff and his band present the Blues with a unique, tongue-in-cheek view and a deep and respectful appreciation of the music. The band’s sound moves from the slinky grooves of New Orleans to the down and dirty rawness of Chicago and all points in-between.

Gritty and dynamic, they take the music from rushing peaks to hushing lows, and then Poppa Dawg steps back from the mic to spread the news.

Karen Wiseman

Audiences can expect old swing classics, soulful ballads, Latin jazz, and re-imagined Broadway and pop tunes, all delivered with subtlety and elegant arrangements.

Justin Glibbery Quintet

From the south end of Okanagan Lake comes the sweet yet vibrant sound of Penticton’s popular jazz players. Enjoy a particularly lyrical melody encompassing a solid harmonic and rhythmic foundation with a few twists and turns.

Sherman “Tank” Doucette

Heralding from Kelowna, the Sherman “Tank” Doucette Blues Band proudly calls the Okanagan home, and they continue to perform with all the passion and conviction few can deliver. Get ready for an incredible show.
